I can’t give enough credit to the homeowner for the installation he did on this Ft. Hunt traditional remodel. I was a little nervous about how things would go given there were some tricky areas in the island and on the feature wall. Only working nights and weekends this wound up being one of the best DIY projects I’ve ever seen and quite honestly the craftsmanship and attention came out better than some of the “professional” installs I’ve seen recently.
By adding a large island and window seating, this expansive kitchen has become an entertainment center in the house. White painted cabinets with a glaze give it a european look while the color tones give the whole kitchen a very warm feel. Line of sight when you walk in the kitchen starts with the bookcase end of the island, we added an attention grabbing feature glass cabinet on the far wall to draw grab your eye. By pulling your eyes to the far end of the room it makes the room feel even bigger. Stone backslashes and under-cabinet lighting round things out with all the touches you’d expect in a high end kitchen.
